We used to be known as the kid picked on in high school but now those bullies are working for us. No longer are we categorized by these stereotypes of the past. Instead of being anti-social, basement-dwelling geniuses, we're now regarded as intelligent, and analytical individuals who have strengths in various specific niches. We're the ones who tend to over-research and over-analyze when we get into something, and we fully utilize the Internet to help us with this. Internet memes tend to keep us entertained along with interesting articles, videos, and current events. No longer are we defined by our vices, but by our taste. We're techie and creative, with the right pinch of style. We're interested in participating with the modern world around us, and happy to have a strong group of friends to share it with.

You've been on the Internet for hours now, switching between personal and work emails, videos sent to you by your great aunt, and news articles you accidentally ran into that piqued your interest. You have an annoying amount of tabs open and you're slightly procrastinating even though the project you have for work is due next week. All of a sudden, you feel a stinging sensation in your eyes. You've hardly blinked in the last 3 minutes and consequently your eyes have dried out, leaving you with itchiness, blurriness, and frustration.
|
 |
-
Relax your eyes and open and close them slowly for 20 seconds every 20 minutes whenever you're focusing on an activity for a long period of time - whether it be reading, gaming, or working. This will help to protect your eyes from drying out.
-
Remember to fully blink. Flutter blinks do not keep your eyes hydrated enough to effectively build those tears back up. So always perform full blinks.

We've been told we're "Superwoman", juggling a plethora of activities including work and family among other things. No matter the praises though, we've been stretched so thin at times that we've still felt like failures. We tell ourselves we haven't spent enough time with friends and family, or that we shouldn't have let that project fall by the waist side just because of external issues. We expect the most from ourselves, because that's what people expect from us. As women, it seems as though we're always working at a disadvantage, but we don't let that ever be an excuse. After all, the constant need to prove ourselves has made us into who we are. And although we secretly wish we were there for our kids just a little bit more when they were younger, we still hold our heads up high and are proud of everything we've accomplished.

Your company has decided to heed to advice of a younger employee. The kid comes in to pitch their plan for the next three years with a fancy presentation and from that moment, you already know it's coming. The kid is so young, so ambitious, and so full of ideas that it's understandable to forget an extremely vital note when presenting to an older audience. You don't say a word, in hopes to avoid from seeming shockingly old. You just nod through the entire presentation - hiding your embarrassment - as you curse the inability of your eyes to read the ridiculously small font at each passing slide.

Digital progressive lenses are the latest technology and are truly revolutionizing the industry. Like HDTV but for your lenses, they enhance images and contrast at the same time in addition to maximizing your visual field.
-
The proper anti-reflective coating for your lenses can be great for all light conditions - this reduces reflections to less than 1% in many instances, making it easier on your eyes.

We've all gone through the "serious attempt" at a work life balance. Sometimes we succeed, but more often than not, we don't. Work tends to follow us wherever we go - through our smartphones and tablets all the way to our kid's hockey games and our friend's dinner parties. We have a favourite tie for work, and a go-to suit for important meetings. We have favourite customers and favourite vendors. We have everything we need in order to cope with the long meetings, late nights, and frequent traveling. We've said "good morning" to the same people over a hundred times this year, and we'll say "nice to meet you" to a hundred more by the end of it. We do what we do for our family, and for ourselves, in hopes that one day, all that we've done will leave a footprint worth noticing.

It's been a long night. It's crunch time and deadlines are piling up. The only way you are going to catch up involves a whole lot of coffee. You're into the wee hours now and your body has contorted around your laptop as though it has now become one with it. Your zombie state has been accompanied by disapproving grunts and bouts of horrible neck strain. Before you know it, the inevitable happens. Sharp stabs of pain bombard your head and you begin to realize that your eyes and eyeglasses are not meant to be in front of a computer for as long as you've kept them there. No matter the deadlines, you have no choice - it's time to go to bed.
|
 |
-
Specialized computer lenses can compensate to help you reduce eye and neck strain whenever you're in front of digital screens for long periods of time.
-
If you endure the hassle of having and wearing both contact lenses for distance vision as well as reading glasses, consider multifocal contact lenses. These can allow for clear vision at all distances.

Our mentality is often reduced to fashion sense or a music play list, but we're much more than that. We value independent thinking, progressive politics, and our lifestyle reflects this. Behind our messy shag cuts and side swept bangs, we are the trendsetters behind major industries and movements. We are the early adopters who not only announce what's new, but also reinvent what's old. With our creative analytical thinking our decisions are effortless and counter-culture, and not just for the sake of being counter-culture. And as much as we are scrutinized for being too apathetic, we actually care deeply about the global economy, the educational system, and the environment. We are not here pushing to be leaders or the faces behind change, but we have a strong passion towards helping the world go in the right direction. Our main goal is to expand our minds and be free of the constrictions that society has the ability to confine us to.

It seems to always happen when you're at your favourite vintage store. You're looking through the racks and your eyes begin to feel a slight itch. It's subtle, so you only rub at your eyes lightly, hoping that your eyes aren't slowly reddening. Allergies tend to run in your family, and although you know rubbing your eyes makes the situation worse, you can't help yourself. And you continue to rub. People begin to stare at you as your eyes fill with tears in the middle of the store. People all around you begin to see your eyes reddening and assume you're either crying or extremely depressed and on drugs. How embarrassing.
|
 |
-
Allergy sufferers should consider daily disposable contact lenses, especially during allergy season. Putting in fresh lenses every day means you will never wear lenses that may have debris from a previous days' allergen-rich environment.
-
In many cases, vintage frames can be refurbished with new lenses in your prescription and with the latest suitable technology. You can also choose to purchase eyewear that has been made from recycled or repurposed materials like plastic, metals, or sustainable nylon products.

Somebody once said, "Life's too short not to have fun."
Agreed.
We like people. People energize and inspire us. Taking it one step further, we love being around people - lots of them, all at once, as often as possible. Yes, that's essentially a party, and we definitely love parties. We tend to have a large number of friends on online social networks, and although we don't announce it, we're pretty proud of that number. Knowing that new experiences are the greatest educator, we strive to have them on regular basis, and we invite our friends to join us. We value our people skills beyond our other skills and we like to put those skills to the test as often as we can. To us, a life full of traveling, partying, entertaining, and being entertained, is a life well lived.

It's girl's day out and you're going shopping. The girls are 5 minutes away - ready to pick you up - and you take one final look in the mirror. You're mortified. This has happened before with these cheap glasses. They never seem to sit correctly on your face, and it's obvious now that they're crooked. You try to bend the plastic, adjust the nose pads, but nothing is working and you're out of both time and options. What would have been a full day of fun is now tainted with frustration and a slap to your self-esteem.

| It doesn't matter how it started for us - It could have been the first step on the ice, the first carve in powdered snow, or the first time we heard the crack of the ball off a bat. We. Love. Sports. Playing them, watching them, or talking about them. It's the game we look forward to after the end of a long workday, or the excuse we use to get in shape. It's taught us about loyalty and passion, but most importantly, it brings us together in all forms - as teammates, friends, and family.
|
 |
|
You hate when it happens, but sometimes you forget your contacts and you have to be on the ice in 10 minutes.
You put that helmet on with your glasses, knowing full well you'll be doomed mid-way through the game.
Lo and behold, your glasses are fogged up and it's a 2 on 1 coming in on you. We all know how this ends.
|
 |
-
Anti-fog wipes or coatings for your eyewear are extremely valuable for outdoor activities or whenever you're going from hot to cold temperature environments or vice versa.
-
If you're actively playing sports, you should consider purchasing prescription or non-prescription shatter-resistant sports goggles that are fitted securely and comfortably to your face.
